Marta Vukovic

I am a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Government at the University of Vienna, researching drivers and consequences of democratic backsliding in Europe and beyond. I mainly use survey experiments to explore how citizens understand democracy and under what conditions they renege on democratic principles and support undemocratic politicians.

I am writing my dissertation as part of the broader EU-Horizon Project known as Authlib (Neo-Authoritarianisms in Europe and the Liberal Democratic Response), which examines different forms of illiberalism across Europe.
